For me, one of the most exciting things on the planet is to see a young person's life change when engaging in dance. Having taught and developed over 19,000 people of all ages since 2002, I've had the privelige to see the powerful effect dance can have on lives many times.

My skills include teaching, choreographing, project management and one-to-one coaching.

From 2005-2011 I developed the first Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) — a professional training programme for students with exceptional potential aged 10-18 years. Funded through the UK's Department for Education's Music and Dance Scheme, the National Dance CATs provide access to world-class training for young people across the UK.

During my time running The Place CAT I'm proud to say 100% of students who applied to pursue dance in higher education were successful - and went on to places including Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, Northern School of Contemporary Dance, TrinityLaban, Central School of Ballet, London Contemporary Dance School, London Studio Centre and Rotterdam Academie. Alumni now work professionally for companies including Scottish Dance Theatre, Motionhouse, Scottish Ballet and in productions in London’s West End.

I am currently teaching Generation 2 youth dance for Rambert Dance Company's Learning and Participation department as well as being part of their Animatuer team.

“Having worked with Lucy Field for a large portion of my career, I have always found her positivity, immense drive and passion for working with young people to be deeply inspiring. She is the first person I would recommend as a dance and project leader. In future years a whole generation of modern dancers will have Lucy’s skills and innovation to thank for developing and making their formative years so diverse and exciting. I greatly look forward to seeing what Lucy creates and achieves in the future.”
Jonathan Goddard, Artist at Rambert Dance Company, & The Place CAT Teacher 2004-08

"Lucy led the CAT Programme with energy and charisma, inspiring and nurturing all those she worked with. As a mentor she gave me the confidence to embrace my role as teaching assistant and provided me with opportunities to help me progress and develop my skills as a rehearsal director and teacher."
James Cousins, Dancer, Choreographer, National Youth Dance Ambassador for Youth Dance England, and The Place CAT Teaching Assistant 2009-10

"Finding your feet in the dance industry at such a young age is a very hard task. A few years ago I had to ask myself some important questions in relation to my future career. Lucy Field was one of the key figures in helping me make those decisions, offering an incredible amount of understanding and consideration. The advice she gave me has stuck with me since and has helped me not only as a dancer but as a person too. She gave each student the same concern, and went far beyond her job expectations. This selflessness and effort never once compromised her energy or buoyancy."
Joel O'Donoghue, 3rd Year Degree student, Trinity Laban and CAT student 2006-09

From 2012 I will be Co-Coordinator of the Dance Educators Group (DEG)
